Ancient Fibulae: Crescent moon reproduction from The Israel Museum

A fibula is an ancient brooch or pin used to fasten garments and it often served as a significant cultural and artistic artifact. The Israel Museum in Jerusalem has an extensive collection of archaeological artifacts, including fibulae from various periods and regions.

These pieces are often made of bronze, silver, or gold and can be decorated with intricate designs, inlays, or stones. Our brooch is a pewter reproduction of a crescent moon pin from Tunisia that was originally cast in sterling silver, hammered, and engraved.
