Earrings Inspired by the Hillwood Museum's Russian Treasures

Nestled in Marjorie Merriweather Post’s former home in Washington, D.C., Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens boasts a stunning array of Imperial Russian treasures. At its pinnacle shines the Collar and Badge of the Order of St. Andrew, Russia’s highest chivalric honor.

Established by Tsar Peter the Great in 1698, the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle the First-Called was created as Russia’s supreme honor for both royal family members and exceptional statesmen or military leaders. It remains the highest Russian order to this day, awarded sparingly for outstanding service to the state.

Marjorie Post’s collection of Russian Imperial artifacts is one of the most comprehensive outside Russia, rooted in her marriage to Ambassador Joseph Davies in the 1930s. These pieces not only display astonishing artistry but also narrate a story of diplomacy, power, and legacy.

Our earring reproductions draw direct inspiration from the ornate collar of the Order of Saint Andrew First-Called. These earrings echo the radiant sunburst motif seen in the collar links. Crafted in gold-plated metal and finished with hand-painted enamel, these earrings are more than an accessory—they’re a statement of heritage and homage.
