Exploring Marjorie Merriweather Post's Exquisite Jewelry Collection

Marjorie Merriweather Post was not only a prominent American businesswoman and philanthropist but also a notable collector of fine art and jewelry. Her jewelry collection was renowned for its exceptional quality and historical significance. Post's jewelry collection included pieces from notable periods and styles, including Fabergé, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Much of Marjorie Merriweather Post’s jewelry collection is displayed at Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens in Washington, D.C., her former residence, which she transformed into a museum. The collection includes not just jewelry but also fine art, decorative arts, and Russian imperial artifacts. We collaborated with the Museum to reproduce some of her iconic jewelry.

She had a keen interest in historical pieces, such as Russian imperial jewelry, which she collected during her time in the Soviet Union. One of the most significant parts of her collection was her Fabergé pieces. She owned several pieces created by the House of Fabergé, known for their exquisite craftsmanship and historical significance.

Post's collection featured numerous pieces by Cartier, a brand synonymous with luxury and high craftsmanship.

Marjorie Merriweather Post's jewelry collection stands as a testament to her impeccable taste and her passion for preserving historical artifacts. Her legacy lives on through public exhibitions at Hillwood, where visitors can admire the beauty and craftsmanship of these remarkable pieces.
