Skulls were prominent in ancient Meso-American artwork, particularly among the Aztecs, some of whose Gods were represented by skulls. The skull, a symbol for regeneration, was believed to repel evil influences and to be the seat of intelligence, spirit, and spark of life. Today’s Day of the Dead Festival, celebrated across Latin America, has its origins in the ancient Meso-American culture.

Testimonials

★★★★★

These earrings are exactly what I was looking for! I have Queen Puabi's replica necklace from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and they are a perfect match! The earrings are well made and comfortable, and look contemporary or ancient. Very versatile!

I had purchased the same scarab earrings from a museum shop after visiting an Egyptian special exhibit and loved them. I lost one and was so thrilled to be able to find the same earrings again to replace it. They are exactly what I hoped they would be.
